While donating footwear is our mission, we’re dedicated to helping others in any way we can.

From helping cats in need to donating toys and video games to underprivileged children to volunteering across the world, we strive to assist in any way possible.

We decided that even though a warm pair of boots goes a long way during the cold New England winter, there was more we could do. Inspired by others who also want to give back, we created our very own winter care bags for those in need; those who might not have a safe, warm roof over their head while the snow is falling down.

Each care bag included several new pairs of socks, several hats, scarves, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, and other toiletries in waterproof bags, with options available for both men and women—along with a sweet note inside.

Shaping Soles drove around Springfield, MA and Enfield, CT handing out bags to folks on street corners, red lights, and stop signs. With leftover bags, we headed to Worcester with the same goal. After once again going through the city finding those who might need a care bag, any further leftover bags went to Behavior Health Network’s Phoenix House and AIDS Project Worcester.

While in Worcester, a caring individual notified us of several folks who needed a care bag—we gladly obliged in assisting them and were inspired by their passion to help others. The individual also bought a trunk-full of brand new blankets from Walmart for us to give out; the extras also went to the AIDS Project.

Take a look at what our care bags and blankets consist of. While this anecdote just tells the story of our first winter with the bags, this is a yearly initiative we strive to carry on!

For instance, we launched and distributed our own winter care bag program during the winter of 2023-2024.

Our time started in Sint Maarten at the Freegan Food Foundation, a food bank that primarily aims to eliminate food waste. We prepared meals for those in need, including some delicious coleslaw! After that, we headed over the St. Christopher Children’s Home in St. Kitts for some gardening and landscaping projects. While on the island we also helped out with the adorable pups at the Basseterre Animal Rescue Centre. Our adventures next brought us to St. Lucia with YWAM St. Lucia, in which we spread the Word of the Lord, joined in at their weekly prayer station in Castries, and gave love to whoever needed it—just as Jesus would do. Our trip ended in Curaçao volunteering with Dierenbescherming Curaçao, where we gave their cats and kittens all the love and care they deserve. Check out some of the pictures below!

Later on in November 2025, we were blessed to head to the Caribbean for two weeks of volunteer work.

All of this is the essence of what we’re about: just doing what we can do to help others.

There’s nothing more important to us than community. Even if we can’t directly help in every situation, we still want to be involved with those who also help others in our area. That’s why being present means so much to us at local events, whether it be Helix Human Services' “Rise Up” conference, the annual galas hosted by Christina’s House, the East Longmeadow Rotary Club’s “Celebrate EL” festival, Springfield Rescue Mission’s “New Life Gala,” and even networking events such as Genuine Collabs' "Coffee & Headshots" in Agawam. We want to surround ourselves with similar organizations and people who have the same goals as us. When we all work together to help others, there is no limit to how many lives we can change!
